The new enhancements to the LMS are part of a coordinated effort between the Sandler Learning Technology team and our LMS vendor, Seertech. The goal of the features in this LMS enhancement release are to make it easier to share and manage content in the Sandler LMS. Click the link in the title of each feature below to learn more!
My Bookmarks
To emulate other bookmark functionality you may be familiar with in other applications, you can now bookmark courses, course objects, learning paths, and channels in the LMS. Similar to the Share button, you'll see a Bookmark button on content. This functionality could be helpful in navigating you quickly to content you access on a frequent basis. For example, let's say you are commonly facilitating from a particular channel, such as the Sales Development Series - Sandler Essentials channel. Instead of having to navigate through your content or search for this channel in a sea of related materials, you can click the Bookmark button on this channel, and open it immediately from the My Bookmarks option in your Learner menu. NOTE: The bookmark functionality is replacing the recently launched functionality for Personal Learning Paths. Any content you saved in your own Personal Learning Path will be migrated to your My Bookmarks option in your Learner menu.
Facilitator Guide Cheat Sheet
The facilitator guides for each program are included in the train-the-trainer channels. A new downloadable PDF cheat sheet has been created to provide quick links to the content in the LMS. (See the attachment at the bottom of this article.)
Auto-Detect Browser Language Selection
The language preference selected in your internet browser is now detected automatically and is used as your default language in the LMS. If you would prefer a different language in the LMS, you can always change this in the My Preferences option in your Profile menu.
Improved Visibility for VILT URLs
From the Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) sessions in the LMS, Instructors can now see the Host URL and Join URL. Previously, Instructors could not see these URLs in their view of the LMS, but now they are able to quickly launch virtual instructor-led sessions set up as external events. Admins can also see these URLs on the View tab of the offering in the Learning Navigator.
Enrollment Triggers
The Trigger tab on content in the Learning Navigator has been enhanced to provide more control over the specific days and time of day that target actions occur for enrollments. Along with the existing number of days after the source event, there is a new time field that allows you to set a time delay for when the learner will be enrolled in the course. Also, in the new Offset Types field, you can choose to only enroll learners on workdays, and/or you can specify which specific days of the week the system can enroll them. For example, if a learner fails a course, you can configure the LMS to extend additional training to the learner and enroll them on specific days or times of your choosing.
Email Notifications for a Content Object
From a folder in the Learning Navigator, you can now conveniently see the email notification jobs that are linked to the folder and the total email notifications sent for the objects in this folder. These details are displayed under the Email Notifications section at the bottom of the folder’s Properties tab.
Share a Link to an Offering
In addition to the Share buttons across the user interface of the LMS, for content offerings, Franchise Admins can grab a hyperlink (URL) using a Share button in the Learning Navigator to quickly share with their clients. For example, what if you want to share a direct link to the offering for a webinar recording with one of your clients? You can retrieve and share two types of URLs from the offering in the Learning Navigator - one that navigates the learner to the course page in the LMS and one that opens the content directly in the appropriate player (e.g., PDF viewer, video player, YouTube, Zoom, etc.) for the learner.
