Do you want to organize your learners by the company they work for? This could be helpful when you want to send communication, assign content, or manage reporting for learners of a specific company. Well, let’s explore how to create child organizations for each of the companies you work with!
Within the Organization Navigator, a child organization is a sub-folder within the End Users folder of your Franchise folders. To create the child organization:
- Click the Admin tab and select the Organization Navigator option.
- Navigate to your End User folder by clicking the
icon next to each item in the following path: Sandler -> Franchise Name – FRANCHISE OWNER -> Franchise Name – FRANCHISE OWNER – End Users.
- Click the Franchise Name – FRANCHISE OWNER – End Users folder. The details are displayed on the right side of the window.
- Click the
icon next to the Franchise Name – FRANCHISE OWNER – End Users name and select the Create Child Organization option from the menu displayed.
- In the Name field, enter the name of the company you want to add under your organization.
- In the Type field, leave blank - DO NOT select any option.
- In the Catalogue Email Request field, select the Yes option.
- In the Order To Address field, enter the preferred email address for the customer.
- Click the Create button. You can now add or move users to this child organization as you need.
IMPORTANT: Child organizations inherit the default settings of the parent organization unless set up differently. For example, if your parent organization has a logo, the child organization will use the same logos from the Franchise unless changed at the child organization level.
NOTE: Using the steps above, you can pivot from child organization to creating individual users under your parent organization using the Create User option in Step 4 to add them to your End User folder.
Once the child organization exists, you can create new users directly in the child organization or move existing users to a child organization whenever you need.
You can also run reports against this child organization by selecting the child org in the Organization parameter of your reports!
