| Assessment/Test | A test or quiz object developed in iLearning. An assessment is comprised of test items stored in test banks. Assessments may be offered individually or as part of a course. |
| Assessor | Responsible for reviewing and grading assignments. An Assessor is a type of Resource and can a User can be an Assessor in addition to other roles. |
| Assignment | Assignments are pieces of required work that Learners upload for an assessor to grade. |
| Assignment Module | An object type required to deliver Assignments to Learners. |

| Authorized enrollment | An enrollment condition where the targeted group can see an offering in the Catalog but must go through an approval process before they are enrolled. |
| Audit | A log of actions or changes. Audits show activities and activity status (Success/Failure) and/or changes made to key data. |
| Blended learning | Learning that includes a variety of training styles, for example face-to-face, self-paced and virtual classroom training. |
| Browser Hawk | A browser detection tool that is used by the LMS to detect the browser setting of a User attempting to access online content. The LMS provides the ability to assign profiles to specific content that results in warnings or errors if a User’s browser does not meet the criteria necessary to play the content. |
| Bundle | An eCommerce-related course grouping; a Bundle consists of a group of courses offered through one purchase at a ‘Bundle Discount’ price. Bundle components are configured in the object properties of a Bundle object in Learning Navigator. |
| Campaign | Campaigns enable promoting enrollment non-mandatory scheduled courses to Learners who are members of a selected User Group. Default notifications are available to send initial invitations to a defined User Group of Learners, and also send reminder emails to Learners who have not yet enrolled in a given period. |
| Catalog/Course Catalog | Learners find courses that are available for their enrollment in the Catalog. The Catalog may be organized into categories that are specific to a site. Learners must meet the Targeting to see courses and offerings in the internal, logged-in Catalog; Courses may be configured to be visible to all Learners or Learners-by-Location or Region on the external, logged-out Catalog. |
| Category | A means of grouping courses under a common heading that is searchable in the Catalog. Categories are added in Category Navigator. Objects can be added to categories in Category Navigator and in Learning Navigator. Learners only see categories containing courses for which they meet the targeting. |
| Category Navigator | Enables creation of categories for classifying and grouping courses into topics and themes to facilitate finding desired content in the Catalog. |
| Certificate | A PDF document generated when a Course or Learning Path has been completed. Certificates are customizable and contain training and User specific information such as Learner Name, Course/Learning Path Name, and Completion Date. |
| Certifications | A unit of instruction that may have an expiration period and/or requires renewal at regular periods (Renewal Required), or only needs to be completed once (One-off). Renewal Required certifications carries a valid period and expiration date. The training must be repeated for the certification to be renewed. One-off certifications only need to be completed once and the Learner will have ‘Certified’ status (as opposed to ‘Current’) once completed. |
| Classroom/Workshop | A specific type of Content Object that refers to a face-to-face or online Instructor-led course. This Content Type implies the offering is ‘Scheduled’ and is Instructor-led either in a physical space or via a web conferencing application. |
| Channel | A Channel is a collaborative function where subscribers can access and share content relevant for a specific topic or group of Users. Users targeted to a channel can subscribe and unsubscribe from it via the Catalog. Channels support inclusion of all content types. Content is added by Admins via Learning Navigator. Channel subscribers can add online content such as videos and URLs. Other features of a channel include social networking via Yammer, Ask The Expert (questions to Expert(s) defined by Admins) and Schedule Help (asynchronous content with a support team or schedule an appointment with the Expert). |
| Channel Manager | The Resource Type for Users who are assigned to manage a channel. To manage a channel, a User must be configured as a Channel Manager in the Manage Resources module. Channel Managers are assigned to Channels in Learning Navigator. |
| Compliance | “Compliance” means something different to everyone and this is true in the LMS/training world as much as anywhere. Seertech has divided Compliance into 3 areas: 1. Compliance (C) training refers to the process of educating employees on the laws, regulations and company policies that apply to their day-to-day job responsibilities. 2. Role Mandatory (R) training refers to training which is required due to the role you are in and covers your roles and responsibilities, and any legal requirements or skill levels you may require 3. Other Mandatory (M) training refers to any other training that you may be required to do |
| Configurable Attribute | Metadata field added to enable collection of data specific to a site e.g. Job Code, Assignment, Field Location, etc. Configurable attributes may be added for Users, Objects, Resources, Organization, etc. |
| Content | Anything you deliver to Learners is considered content. An online, self-paced course is content; a pdf file is content. Even a scheduled classroom event must be represented by a Classroom content object. Typically, what is delivered to the Learner is referred to as a course. Many synonyms are used for course, such as Workshop, Class, Conduct, etc. |
| Content Object/Object | Content Objects, also referred to as RCOs (Reusable Content Objects), comprise the basic unit for learning. This is where the type of content is defined (e.g., online, classroom, or workbook) and where metadata are stored. The metadata include information about the content that facilitates its labeling, indexing, search, storage, retrieval, execution, display, licensing, maintenance, and/or use. |

| Contextual Forum | Is associated with a particular offering, and the information discussed in the forum is limited to the subject of the offering. You create a contextual forum on a specific offering. |
| Continuing Professional Education (CPE) | Mandated continuous learning for particular industry types and regulatory bodies. Typically a required number of hours or points within a framework of competencies. |

| Courses Due Dashboard/Widget | A display in the Learner interface of courses that carry a Due Date. Several configurations determine what courses appear in the Courses Due Dashboard including a combination of system attributes and targeting. |
| Curriculum | A series courses grouped together under a single content object and as a single offering. Curriculum could be defined as a structured sequence of courses to get from one skill level to another. |

| DUG (dynamic User group) | A group with the same basic properties as User Groups but instead of being enrolled via a single attribute, the membership is maintained by the LMS depending on multiple conditions (‘And’ conditions/Boolean Logic) e.g. Members in this group are Managers, AND have a Start Date after XX date AND are NOT in the IT Department. |
| DUG V2 | A type of User Group enabling creating both simple and complex queries on one screen. The function allows configuring simple statements such as, “All Users with Active LMS accounts who have an Active Assignment and are part of the Manager User Group” and more complex statements such as “All Active Users who are located in ‘Australia’, and are NOT part of the ‘Manufacturing’ organization and have the position of ‘Supervisor’.” |
| Enrollment Conditions | In partner with Targeting, enrollment Conditions determine how a Learner gains access to an offering. There are four standard enrollment Conditions: Mandatory enrollment – the Learner is enrolled automatically and cannot unenroll themselves. Self enrollment – the Learner can search for an offering in the catalog and enroll in it Authorized enrollment – the Learner can search for the course and request enrollment, triggering the approval process. Purchasable enrollment – the Learner can buy or purchase the course. This is only available on sites where eCommerce functionality has been implemented. |

| Federated | Can apply to the organization of the Training Team as well as training content: a federated team model has a small core team that manages the learning technology and corporate training programs and enables business and functional units to run their own training programs. Federated content describes a core, centralized library of content objects from which offerings are created at the folder level vs. from the object level. This model facilitates multi-language, multi-region, multi-vendor/partner training delivery. |
| Folder | Found in Learner Navigator, a folder provides a means to group objects by subject, business line, delivery method and other distinguishing characteristics to facilitate content management. Folders have properties such as Permissions and Targeting to govern Admin rights and visibility to Learners. Properties of a folder may be inherited by folders that are subordinate to it. A folder with folders created beneath it is referred to as a Parent folder; a folder created beneath another folder is referred to as a sub-folder or Child folder. |
| Forum | A message board through which Users can exchange messages. It enables s to communicate with other s and instructors by posting questions, thoughts, and issues of concern. |
| Guest Speaker | A Resource Type with similar functionality as an Instructor resource, however, unlike an Instructor, Guest Speakers may be booked into concurrent events. (See also Observer) |
| History | The record of a Learner’s progress in and completion of courses is referred to as their learning history. |
| Instructor/Facilitator | A person who is an up-front facilitator of face-to-face and/or virtual classrooms. Set up as a classroom resource and able to be booked for all some of the sessions comprising a scheduled offering. |
| Instructor Activity | A sub-type of a survey or test, this is used when an Instructor needs to answer questions about a Learner’s performance as opposed to just marking status for an object. |
| Instructor Assessment | Enables Instructors to mark a completion against a content object within a Learner’s Learning Path. Typically, this functionality is used to manage On-The-Job training. The Instructor observes a task or behavior in the classroom or in the workplace and records completion of that observation in iLearning PLUS. Instructor assessments are set up as content objects in the system but are not offered, and there are no enrollment conditions. |
| Job | A procedure in the system that performs a prescribed function. For example, a job is used to manage the import of Users into the system from other sources such as HR. |
| Job Role | A Job Role allows a definition to be created which defines the requirements for that job role. Job roles have descriptions, can be broken into sections and can include any learning object, including licenses and medical documents. |
| Language Object | Object that can be included in a Learning Path and used to support multiple language versions of an Online course requirement in a Learning Path. Content Object is set to type Online-Language and Course Offerings in different languages are created and set to Auto-Complete the Language Object. |
| Learner/User | Anyone with an account in the LMS and uses the system is granted the Learner role. An account is a Username + password + profile attributes such as email address, first name, last name. Learner is the most basic role and does not carry Admin privileges by default. |
| Learning Path | A set of courses. The purpose of a learning path is to aggregate learning so that Learners can meet a specific objective. Learning Paths can contain most types of Objects including another Learning Path. Learners enroll in a path and then may be able to select the offerings of the included courses to enroll in. |
| Learning Track | Learning tracks are similar to learning paths in that they allow courses to be grouped together into a structured program. Learning tracks, however, group the course offerings (or specific sessions) rather than the course overall as in learning paths. The enrollment is controlled at the learning track level, and once enrolled in a Learning Track, the Learner is automatically enrolled in all the offerings that make up that learning track. A Learning Track can only contain courses that have an offering. |
| Linked Object | Object that is related to another object. Links are created when a Content Object is Created by Reference and when Language Objects are used. |
| Live Meeting | A type of virtual classroom collaboration tool. |
| Manager Delegation | Enables an administrator or a manager to delegate their responsibilities to another User. Within their own login, the delegated User can view the delegated team, approve requests, and do all the tasks the original manager can do. |
| Manager | Managers are Users who have one or more employees reporting to them in the Seertech iLearning PLUS User hierarchy. Have access to a view of their employees' learning status and performance. |
| Mandatory Enrollment | An enrollment condition resulting in the targeted group to be automatically enrolled and cannot unenroll themselves from an offering. |

| Notification | Emails sent to Users based on system events or jobs are called notifications. For example, when a Learner enrolls in a course they receive a notification confirming the enrollment and the course, date, time and location along with a calendar item they can add to their Outlook (or similar) calendar application. |

| Offering | A specific instance of learning e.g. a classroom that is held on this date at this place and time. In iLearning PLUS, an offering is typically used to deploy content to a Learner . For example, Learners enroll in and play online offerings; Learners enroll in and attend classroom offerings. |
| Online Learning/Content | Web-playable content, whether supplied by outside vendors or authored in-house. Content types range from standard word processing and presentation packages to sophisticated multimedia authoring systems |
| Open Forum | Is a forum that is not directly associated with an offering. You create an open forum on a content folder. Learners access open forums to which they are targeted from the Forums link in the Learner UI. |
| Operational Assessment | Provides a way of tracking which Leaners are qualified to do what (operate equipment or follow a process), where (on which site or piece of equipment) and at what level (Competency). Ex. Learner1 completes an Operational Assessment and is scored as Competent to operate a Forklift above ground; Learner1 completes another Operational Assessment and is scored as Requires Supervision to operate a Forklift in a mine. |
| Organization | In the LMS, an organization is the User’s ‘home’ from a data perspective. It may determine what courses they are able to access and may also determine the interface they see when they login to the LMS. |
| Organization Navigator | Provides ability search a site’s Org structure. Organizations are configured using a tree structure and the Org Navigator displays the highest-level organization. Users can search for a specific organization or drill-down through the organizational hierarchy viewing each organization and its details, down to the individual Users assigned to an organization. Admins with the requisite permissions can create and manage Users from within the Organization Navigator. |
| Password Security | A module enabling configuration of password requirements and password reset protocols. |
| Permissions | Permissions specify which Users can perform which actions on which objects. The actions are called privileges. |

| Ratings | A module enabling the review of ratings submitted by Learners and also the entry of course ratings received from a Learner. The Ratings search retrieves existing Ratings by Course Object or Offering, Username of the Learner who submitted the Rating, Date the Rating was submitted, and Status. Once a record is retrieved, the User can view details of the Rating and update the Status (if an approval workflow has been applied to Ratings for the site) or Delete the record. |

| Region | Regions are used to manage Federated and eCommerce sites. A customer can only belong to one region, which is set during the registration or account creation process. Different courses can be offered by region and will inherit the applicable tax rates, currency codes and language settings. Customers may be given the ability to select or change their region to view courses in different regions when logged-out. |
| Report | All data in the system can be accessed via reports. Reports and the data in them are made available to Users based on role, access and permissions. |
| Request of Prior Learning (RPL) | A process enabling Learners to request credit for a course due to their having taken a similar course or acquired the knowledge and skills delivered in the course through prior experience. RPL is managed in iLearning PLUS via a combination of system attribute(RPL_ENABLED), configurable attribute (Survey_Type = RPL Application Form), Survey (configured as a RPL Application Form) and course objects placed in a folder configured with the requisite RPL Workflow and RPL Application Form. RPL-enabled courses display a ‘Request RPL’ button which, when clicked, opens the related RPL Application Form. By default, the request is sent to the Learner’s manager for approval. If approved, the course is added to the Learner’s History. |
| Resource | Anything that can be assigned to Classroom offerings such as instructor, rooms, location or equipment. Resources are added to the system and managed in the Manage Resources module. |
| Resource Unavailability | A Resource status and booking type indicating a Resource is not available for assigning to an event. Types of unavailability are created in the Manage Resource Unavailability module and assigned to Resources in the Manage Resources module. |
| Role | Group of permissions that control what you can do in the system. Roles and permissions can be assigned at organization, content folder, User group, or other specific level to control what and who you can see in the LMS and what actions you can take. |

| Rubric | Criteria for grading or scoring assignments submitted by Learners. Rubrics are configured in the Grading Management module and contain criterion and levels. Grading rubrics are associated with assignments via the Grading Type list when creating an Assignment offering. |

| Session | A single part of a classroom offering. For instance an offering may span 3 days, but each session may meet only for 4 hours each day. Or an offering may span 3 months but the sessions are only on Mondays. Resources may be booked into a single, multiple or all sessions. |
| Site | Each instance of iLearning PLUS inclusive of the Users and Content is referred to as a Site. |
| Surveys | Group of questions that is used to evaluate or obtain opinions. There are no right or wrong answers. Surveys can be linked to classes/Webinars or stand-alone. They can also be used by managers and instructors to evaluate a Learner. Surveys are not scored. |
| Targeting | Determines who will see what content in the content Catalog. There are four types:- self-enrollment (Learner may enroll via the Catalog), mandatory (Learner is automatically enrolled), authorized enrollment (Learner must request to enrollment) or purchasable (Learner pays to enroll). |
| Test/Assessment | A Content object within the content tree of iLearning. It contains at least one section and one question. Generally used to test knowledge. Answers are right or wrong and score is given to enable a pass or fail. |
| Target Completion Days (TCD) | An attribute informing the Learner the number of days in which they should complete a Learning Path. The enrollment Date + Target Completion Days = the Due Date for the Learning Path (LP). When the system attribute MANDATORY_DUE_DATE_USE_LP_TCD is set to Y, the LP TCD is applied to all courses in Mandatory LPs. |
| Test Item Banks/ Question Bank | A repository for storing a group of questions that a test draws from. A test can use all the questions, some of them, or a random selection each time the test is launched by the Learner. A test can use items from more than one Question Bank. |
| Test Item/ Question | Includes the question and answers and resides in a Test Bank. One test item can be included in many tests or surveys. | Users | Typically refers to Learners, however anyone with an account in the LMS is a User. The ability to see and use Administrative capabilities of the system is dependent on Role and Permissions. Learner is the basic, default role assigned to all Users and carries no Admin privileges. |
| Waitlist | A User can apply to wait for an offering (specific date) that is fully booked. They are thus on the waitlist. When a space becomes available due to a booked un-enrolling, the first Learner on the waitlist will automatically be enrolled in the course. |

| Widgets | Subsets of module functionality that perform a specific task e.g. My Scheduled Learning is a widget found on the Homepage of s who have enrolled into Classroom or Virtual class offerings. |
