There are two ways to create a Virtual Class Offering:
-
From the Manage Scheduled Offerings module. Roles with the right permissions will see a Create Virtual Class Offering button.
-
From the Learning Navigator. Roles with the right permissions will find an action Create Virtual Class Offering available in the action list of a content object (type Classroom or Virtual Class) or folder.
Subtypes
For a virtual class offering to be created against a classroom object, this object needs to have a subtype. This subtype will become the default Virtual Class Type value when creating the offering, but it can be edited.
Classes can be created manually through the 5-step workflow. When creating an offering from the LMS (i.e. not via import), a 5-step wizard opens:
-
Create Offering: At this step admins define most offering settings.
-
Create Sessions: One offering can have one or multiple sessions.
-
Book Resources: At this step, admins book instructors and guest speakers.
-
Pricing: The price gets inherited from the content object by default, but it can be set or updated at this step (or later, once the offering is created).
-
Confirmation: The offering has been created and the admin can access the offering details from this screen.
